Can I please use any type of qiskit gate I want on this, in the same of possibly alternatives to what has been used before in quantum algorithms? I’d rather not get into specifics here for obvious reasons, but there is more than 1 way to implement this.

You can use any single-qubit gate(s) you want. The only allowed 2-qubit gate is a CX gate. I hope this answers your question.

Do we need to include measurement gates in the submission?
I’d like to ask which qubit should be measured as it may increase the circuit depth by 1.
